Optimizing your FaceBook Pay-Per-Click Advertising

This is a continuation of my Social Media Marketing learning's from FaceBook's PPC Advertising.

In order to follow this you will need to have a FaceBook account, FaceBook Fan Page and Funding Source for your Ads Management.I will show you how to optimize the FaceBook Like Campaign that we started in our earlier post, A simple way to boost your likes on Facebook. As in the earlier post, I will be utilizing my fan page, The Great Big Book of Everything - Paul Truman Jr. to step you through the process.

The First step is to access the Ads Manager. I do this by typing "ADS MANAGER" into the FaceBook search bar. Then I select the Ads Manager App.

The next thing to do is select Power Editor located in the left hand bar on the page.

If this is the first time you are using the Power Editor, you will need to download your Ad information. This is only needed to be done in the future to pull any ads you create after this time.

When you select the Download button the following appears. I would select "All My Accounts" and "Include Pages for Logged Accounts"

Then we will select the "Active Campaigns" and open the Campaign we want to work on. In this case it is the same campaign we began in our earlier post. Once you select it you will see the "Advanced Options" screen below. If it does not show this page you can select it by choosing "Advanced Options" bar to the left of the center frame. This option gives us the ability to select our audience. At this point I want to target everyone so I will select ALL for the options.

Now this next step is where we want to modify in more detail. We want to make sure our viewers are landing on our "Timeline" You also want to get your AD Copy right here.Your Headline and Text can be modified here. As you modify these fields you will see how the AD will appear in the right hand column. You can even modify your displayed picture. With the AD Copy and Picture set up how you want it to display you can scroll down to change Placement and Mobile options. For this LIKE AD we are looking for it to display to as many so I select "All FaceBook" and "All Mobile Devices"

Now that was easy, well this is the part that can make or break the success of you campaign. This screen is where you place precise Audience Targets. It starts with Location and Age, which we set up in the prior post. The next section of this gets a bit more in detail with the asking of precise interests. Here is where you need to do specific research and it can be as easy as Who Do You Follow? I follow other entrepreneurs so I start to list them here. Not all of those that I follow are popular enough to have a precise interest in FaceBook so I continue till my numbers reach as high as I can get them. I also scroll down to target users who DO NOT already connected to this page, as our goal is to get more page like.

Now our last step is to select our pricing.I will always select the Cost-Per-Click (CPC) option. This will let you better control the amount spent on your advertising. you will notice FaceBook gives us a range of bids. I will usually go about 10% above the minimum suggested, so I will adjust this to .25 a bid. Keep in mind that these numbers are subject to the current market and will be the MAX you will spend on a click of your ad. There may be times that this may only cost you half of your bid. Return back here later in your campaign to adjust to your budget.

Now with the initial optimization complete, you will begin to see better results in your campaign. Just remember to return back to this tool about once a week to tweak when you review your Page Insights.

Keep an eye out for our next post on how to understand the Page Insights of your FaceBook Fan Page.

Until then Keep safe and Happy.

How to get more engagement on your Social Media presence?

If it is one thing that I have learned in my years of Network Marketing is that you need people to to be engaged and excited about you and your opportunity. Without an engaged audience your business will go nowhere.

Today, I am going to share with you some of my tactics and best practices I use to keep my followers excited and engaged.

I am going to assume that if you are reading this post, you already have an Social Media presence. For ease I will refer to Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Twitter. I centralize my efforts using Google, even though I have never been a fan of the Google conglomerate. With Google Chrome and a simple application called Buffer, I am able to simply manage content.

Your content is everything when it comes to keeping your fans engaged. The problem I had was finding something to write about every day. I reached out to others in my field and found that I did not have to create new content every day. From my mentors I found sources like Entrepreneur, The SBA, Inc, and other marketing magazine websites, to Buffer content to my Social Media sites. Simply Buffering the content will not build engagement. With every Buffer post, I always put my spin on the article and end with a question.

If you follow me, (FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+) you will see that many of my posts are inspirational pictures. While detailed content is great, these sites are Social orientated and pictures do speak loud. I find my inspirational pictures in my own photo library and simply Googling for them. However, when I Google them, I make sure they are public domain. If they are not, I try to reach out to the owner to get permission and give them credit in the post.

Now with this information, get out there and start getting some engaging content to your Social Media sites. Look out for my future post on optimizing your FaceBook Fan Page following and content.

So Many Choices -Blogging or Facebook or Google+

In todays social media times there are so many options to get your ideas out. I have been a part of Facebook from the beginning but never imagined it could be what it is today. With the introduction of WordPress creating and maintaining your own web site and blog are super easy. Even Google has a great channel to get your word out. In this article I will try to dissect what I think is the best of each.

I will start with my first exposure to getting my word out. Facebook. Like many of us, Facebook was our first vehicle we used to express and share our thoughts. It is the easiest to get people to use and share. Facebook makes it easy to separate your personal life with personal pages and business life with fan pages. Both pages are easily managed with one logon. Facebook is a social engine and is good to remember that if you plan to conduct business there. With a well defined personal/business posting process you will be sure not to annoy your family and friends with unwanted business chatter. Facebook also has an awesome Pay-Per-Click advertising program. With a minimal daily budget you can create great exposure for your business. Again, keep in mind that this vehicle is a Social Machine. Advertising here should be used to create excitement about an item and not directly trying to sell the item.

The Google Suite has come a long way. I have been working with Google+ and Blogger over the past two months and found some quick results. The big plus with this vehicle is that Google is well, Google. When it comes to SEO, I have spent little time working on it. Almost every post I create on my Blogger account shows up in Google searches within a 24 hour time frame. To add value to the blog, you can share your post to your followers on their Social Media vehicle called Google+. Now just like your friend base on Facebook, your friends on Google+ can share your ideas with their friends.

Blogging alone has come a long way, thanks to WordPress. I am an old school web designer and spent many hours teaching myself HTML to design my first web site and customer sites. Today, all you need to do is search for plugins to load in WP to do what you want. What use to take hours of coding, now takes minutes of searching, familiarizing yourself with the plug in and then executing. It took me about 6 hours to get our energy website up and running with a blog, customer gathering script and SEO. Running your own blog is very rewarding and knowing that I have the final say on content is a great feeling. Getting a blog up and running with fowlers is the biggest consumption of time. Once your foundation is set this vehicle can be setup to do whatever you so desire.

In conclusion each of these vehicles are awesome ways to get your ideas out. Just make sure your ideas and content are well written and give the reader value.
